Robert Franklin, 31 and Tanaisha Burrus, 27, both of Bridgeport, were arrested around 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, after the department received a report of an argument that had taken place on the side of the road between a man and a woman, said Monroe Police Lt. Stephen Corrone.

The vehicle was reported to be a white Chevy Malibu with a Maine registration plate. Monroe officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Mobil Gas Station, at 405 Route 111, he said.

While speaking with Franklin and Burrus, officers smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, Corrone said.

A search of the vehicle turned up MDMA/ecstasy, crack cocaine, heroin, and marijuana all packaged for sale, he said.

Officers also discovered more than a half-ounce of marijuana during a search of Burrus.

Burrus was charged two counts of possession of a controlled substance. She was released on $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, Aug. 9.

Franklin was charged with the operation of a drug factory, possession with intent to sell, possession within 1,500 feet of a school, and fours counts of possession of a controlled substance.

He was held on a $15,000 bond until arraignment.
